The Departure of Our Parents
我們的父母相繼離世
As was the case with our relatives in China, here in the United States we also began to lose relatives to old age. First was Leon’s mother in 1978, then my mother in 1980. My father retired after my mother passed away and devoted his time to writing his memoir and poems in Chinese. A few poems were later translated into English by my brother and were published in the United States. Leon’s father wrote a family history in his remaining years. My father passed away in 1986 and Leon’s father the next year.
