My Career in the Computer Field

In Virginia, I worked as a consultant for a private company helping with data automation and information management. Although I didn’t have a formal education in computer science, I passed the test to get the Certificate of Computer Professional (CCP). In the evening at Old Dominion University, I taught a three-hour computer- and planning-related course on the Geographic Information System (GIS) which included GPS (Global Positioning Systems) long before they became commonplace.
