In 1984, Leon took a position as the head of the Civil Engineering Department of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Cindy graduated one semester early so that our whole family could move to Virginia at the end of 1984. She then took college courses and was admitted to MIT in 1985. The Chesapeake Bay Bridge welcomed our arrival into the coastal state, which was a total contrast to the landlocked Oklahoma.
