After teaching for 15 years at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Leon decided to take a teaching position at the University of Oklahoma. So in 1980 we moved to Oklahoma. To our children, the place was very remote from New York, where except for Frank’s first year they had lived since their birth. Beyond our expectations, Oklahoma offered opportunities as vast as the big sky and the great plain ahead of the station wagon that carried our family into this new land.
