Besides working as a principal planner, I started to take evening courses toward my doctoral degree at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. To get to my class on time, I usually ate supper while driving after having cooked dinner for our family of seven, including Leon’s parents and the children. Amazingly, I felt relaxed in class, because I needed to pay attention to only one thing: the lecture.
